The Hastings District Council jurisdiction encompasses an enormous diversity of land types and uses from the foot hills of the Kaweka and Ruahine Forest Parks to the Coastal settlements of our beautiful east coast.
In between these lie the highly productive Plains Zone and Rural Zone lands that have provided the majority of the historical wealth of the Hawke's Bay. Placing pressure on these valuable assets is our growing economy and the realisation of many that this is a great place to work and live.
