Wairoa District

Wairoa, 120km northeast of Napier and 100km south of Gisborne, is an attractive town situated on the banks of the expansive Wairoa River, and is the southern gateway to Eastland. It is also the gateway to the natural playgrounds of Te Urewera National Park, Lake Waikaremoana and the Mahia Peninsula.

Wairoa (district population of 10,000, town around 5200) provides an exceptional secluded venue for waterskiing, yachting and rowing and features a relocated lighthouse set on the banks of the river. These features create the perfect destination for future coastal lifestyle developments.

Wairoa District Council has developed the following plans and rules which are graphically illustrated on the Wairoa District Council website, however for more detailed property information these may be better:

Click on the following link to view your property in terms of Council's planning zones http://www.wairoadc.govt.nz/maps/.

And click on the following link to consult with the zoning rules that are applicable to you http://www.wairoadc.govt.nz/planspolicy/districtplan/.

Of course if any of these links generate new questions or it is "all a bit too much" please feel free to contact us for professional advice at 0800 TO SURVEY (0800 86 78 78) choosing the appropriate region or email us.

Come and meet the team, who are based in Hastings. We have numerous developments on the go in Wairoa and so know the area very well. You can find our office location on this map and will be able to find us inside this building:
